BCC Deputy Chief Executive invited to speak at leading exhibition and conference

A member of the British Ceramic Confederation team has once again been invited to speak at the Advanced Ceramics Show and will be putting the spotlight on the journey to net zero.

Deputy Chief Executive Dr Andrew McDermott has been asked to take part in the event for the third time.

This year, he will join other industry leaders to give a presentation on the options for net zero energy sources. It will include a discussion on what may happen in the next 20 years and what it means for ceramic manufacturers and end users.

The Advanced Ceramics Show and The Advanced Materials Show, which will take place at the NEC in Birmingham, will bring together industry, academia and commercial R&D involved in the latest technical ceramic solutions, on 28 /29 June. Co-located with the Battery Cells & Systems Expo, and Vehicle Electrification Expo, the four shows will welcome hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors.

Andrew, who last year chaired a roundtable discussion entitled ‘Making Materials Manufacturing Sustainable’, said: “It is great to have been invited back again and given the opportunity to put the spotlight once again on technical ceramics.

“The exhibition and conference provide a real focal point for the industry, and I look forward to networking and discussing opportunities for the sector.”

BCC Chief Executive Rob Flello is also involved in the event, after being asked to join the Advisory Board for the Advanced Ceramics Show and The Advanced Materials Show.

Rob said: “I am enjoying working with the Advisory Board to highlight how essential UK technical ceramics are to modern life.

“It is great to see that some of our members are also involved, including speakers from International Syalons, and Forterra Plc. It should be an informative and thought-provoking event.” Further details are available here.
